Air Mines are a Hawk weapon used to deter airborne enemy Hawks. They hover mid-air, attaching and subsequently detonating if an enemy Hawk passes by; however, they can be easily shaken off.
Air Mines are floating air sacs that are filled with explosives and are often found in groups. Each mine has prongs that protrude from the mine and blink red or green, depending on which team laid it. Air Mines also create a high-pitched ring when one is nearby.
Air Mines are deployed from the rear of the Hawk in Flight Mode; they are deployed from the cockpit in Mech Mode. They are always deployed in groups of four, but this can be interrupted by transforming while firing.
Air Mines, in a similar fashion to R-Sec Proximity Charges, attach to airborne Hawks and detonate after a period of time. Air Mines are potent, but are easily dodged if a pilot can react quickly enough.
Earning kills with the Air Mines increases your mastery of it.

- Using Mines on trailing enemy Hawks is a great tactic, but make sure you are moderate distance away from them: there is a delay between Air Mine deployment and activation.
- Use Air Mines to protect Shield Generators and important Hawk weapon spawns, such as Hawk Health, Flak Gun, or Cluster Bombs.
- The Air Mines "replace" the AAM Proximity-Fused Aerial Mine from Warhawk. However, the AAM was much less forgiving, dealing instantaneous death to any enemy that flew by.
