Weapons Hawk Weapons

Hawks are the premier air vehicle in Starhawk, superseding the Warhawk/Nemesis from Warhawk. They are purchased for 2 Rift cells at a Launch Pad.

Appearance[]

The Hawk has two forms. In Flight Mode, the hawk takes the appearance of a fighter jet. However, it can morph, Transformers style, into a bipedal walking mech. Hawks can be only used by one person.

Weaponry[]

Main Article: Hawk Weapons Overview

The Hawk has a large arsenal of weapons at its disposal. They have their own weapons selection menu, similar to the troop. Weapons can be obtained by floating pickups scattered across the map. In addition to these selectable weapons, Hawks also have an onboard machine gun, a stomping attack for the ground, and flares that shake off missiles.

Controls[]

Certain aspects of the control scheme can be changed in the settings menu in the Uplink. There are three flight modes: Normal Flight, Pro Flight, and Classic Arcade Flight. The following are the basic controls for the Hawk.

Strategy/Tips[]

  1. Air superiority is important to winning a game, so get into a Hawk and support your team's efforts from above.
  2. If you're on the ground, you cannot be targeted by Flak Turrets.
  3. Don't be discouraged if you die quickly in a Hawk. It takes time and patience to develop the skill of a pro pilot.
  4. The Normal (Default) flight mode is at an extreme disadvantage to the other two modes in maneuverability and general ability, though the easiest to manage. Advanced is the most difficult and realistic but is often dead even against Classic Arcade. Experiment with these two to find their holes and walls (pros/cons) from both your perspective and the enemy's. Recognizing which one the opponent is using and knowing the movements and limitations of each is key to winning any dog fight.
